03.10.13 Patsy Byrne – Founder of Byrne Group

It was with great sadness that I learned about the sudden death of Patsy Byrne who was the founder of the Byrne Group, which has been involved in the construction of the Olympic Stadium, the Emirates and the new Centre and Number One Court at Wimbledon.

I first met Patsy as part of a consortium of concrete frame contractors – an entertaining, forthright and all round nice guy who always appreciated those who made the effort.

He will be sadly missed.
