The Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) Order 2018 was laid before Parliament on 8th February 2018.
It inserts a clause into the Employment Rights Act 1996 that requires employers to ensure payslips state the number of hours being paid to employees where wages vary according to time worked; either as a single aggregate number of hours or as separate figures for hours worked doing different types of work or different rates of pay.
It comes into force on 6 April 2019.

Employers who engage workers whose wages vary as a consequence of time worked must ensure that, prior to April 2019, they have processes and software in place that can meet the requirements of this legislation to provide itemised payslips.
