GLAA publish Brief 55 - Charge Rate Guidance

23 March 2018

The Gangmasters & Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) have released brief 55 which sets out minimum charge out rates between a labour provider and labour user. The minimum rates consider all the statutory rates effective from 1 April 2018.

The GLAA comment that it is possible for a labour provider to legally provide less than the rates published dependent of the business model, however the GLAA will closely scrutinise structures that allow businesses to use rates lower than the guidance.

With more NMW inspections expected based on HMRC’s National Minimum Wage department expanding and the GLAA being granted increased powers, it is essential that your business is compliant with the NMW. It is always vital that licence holders comply with the requirements of the GLAA due to the risk of a licence revocation.
