Proposed rates released for 2021

The 2021/22 rates for statutory maternity, paternity, adoption, parental bereavement and shared parental pay is set to increase from £151.20 to £151.97 per week. Also, the rate of statutory sick pay (SSP) is set to increase from £95.85 to £96.35 per week.

There is a possibility that the average earnings an employee must earn to receive these payments will increase, however it is yet to be confirmed.

These increases are lower than what we have seen in recent years, which is unsurprising due to the coronavirus pandemic. Alongside the recently announced increases the minimum wage, organisations now have time to plan and prepare for the changes.
