CJRS extended to 30 April 2021

  • The Chancellor has announced the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is being extended from 31 March 2021 until 30 April 2021. In the announcement it was confirmed that Government will continue to pay 80% of wages until the end of the Scheme.
  • The Chancellor also confirmed that businesses will have now until the end of March to access Government’s loan schemes.
  • In his announcement the Chancellor also confirmed that the Budget will take place on the 3 March and set out the next phase of the plan.

These announcements will come as a huge relief to those sectors that have been severely affected by Covid-19 giving businesses a further extension to funding which will help many keep jobs open for their employees in the hope of business income being restored.
